SEED Capital’s investment committee acts as a sparring partner and joint decision-maker on large investments. The investment committee consists of:
Karsten Knudsen, Chairman
Karsten Knudsen has been employed in the financial industry since 1986 and has extensive banking experience spanning executive management, asset management, and corporate finance. He has built up this experience through a number of executive positions at companies including A.P. Møller, Danske Bank, and Nykredit. While at Danske Bank, he was in charge of the investment banking division, headed the establishment of Danske Capital, and was a member of the Executive Committee. Karsten Knudsen is currently Group Managing Director of Nykredit and has an MSc in Economics from Copenhagen Business School.
Klaus Eldrup-Jørgensen
Klaus Eldrup-Jørgensen has an extensive career within the life science industry, with experience from big pharmaceutical, diagnostics, and biotech companies. During his 16 years in this industry, he has gained experience in areas including research and development, clinical development, sales and marketing. Moreover, he has nine years of executive management experience from Novo Nordisk, DAKO, and Nordic Bioscience. He is also the founder of several start-up companies and he holds several board positions in high-tech companies. Klaus Eldrup-Jørgensen has an MD from the University of Copenhagen.
Preben Damgaard
Preben Damgaard is one of the most successful IT entrepreneurs in Scandinavia. He founded Damgaard Data in 1983, which was successfully floated on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange as Damgaard A/S in 1999. In 2002—in their largest purchase to date—Microsoft Corporation acquired Damgaard/Navision for USD 1.55 billion and Preben Damgaard became Vice President, Europe/Middle East/Africa Operations as well as a member of the European leadership team. In 2003, Preben Damgaard left Microsoft to spend more time with his family and to pursue other interests. Today, Preben Damgaard is a member of the board of several IT companies and a number of organisations. Preben Damgaard has an MSc in Economics from Copenhagen Business School.
Ulla Brockenhuus-Schack
Ulla Brockenhuus-Schack holds an MBA from Columbia University. She has more than 20 years experience working with innovation and business development. She has worked for McKinsey & Company and the media groups Egmont and Nordisk Film where she was instrumental in the establishment of IO Interactive—the leading games development company in Denmark and she also managed the corporate venture activity Egmont Imagination. Subsequently, she founded HABURI.com, an online factory outlet. Over the years, Ulla has been involved in several start-up companies as an advisor or as an investor.
Peter Tøttrup
Peter tøttrup has been a VC professional since 2000. He joined SEED Capital/DTU Innovation in 2003. Before this, Peter worked as CTO in several startups including In2itive, a 2MInvest portfolio company, which was sold to SPSS Inc. Prior to this, Peter worked for 4 years at Andersen Consulting (Accenture) as a Senior Consultant. Peter has a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the Danish Engineering Academy (1985).
